Entry Form and Bath in Bloom Judging Criteria

The Bath in Bloom Competition is open to all residents, businesses, institutions or community groups within the boundary of Bath & North East Somerset.

Bath in Bloom is a competition which encourages floral displays and raises awareness of environmentally friendly gardening in Bath and Northeast Somerset.

The competition has now been judged , we look forward to seeing all the winners at the awards evening on Friday August 30th at Hayesfield school.

How to Enter - 2024 Competition

  • Entry to the competition is free using the Bath in Bloom competition online entry form below, which contains category details.
  • Each entrant/household may only enter one category.
Entries should arrive no later than Friday 14th June 2024. Entries received after the deadline will not be accepted.

 
 
 
 

 

Judging dates:
All categories except Pubs: Saturday 22nd June - Sunday 30th June 2024.
Pubs only: Saturday 13th July - Saturday 27th July.
Please note that the judges will contact you to arrange a time to visit.

Categories: one entry only per address. Please tick the relevant box below.


  1. Small garden up to 150 sq. m
  2. Medium garden 150-500 sq. m
  3. Large garden over 500 sq. m
  4. Containers and/or hanging baskets display – home planted
  5. Allotment or kitchen garden
  6. Business premises using container planting (e.g. Hotel, B&B, shop, office)
  7. Business premises with a garden
  8. Pub with floral display – containers or garden  
  9. Horticultural achievement by a community group
  10. Patio or courtyard garden – private or business
  11. Schools

Category winners from the previous year will automatically go forward to one of the three Champion Winners' categories. These are; best Community Group winner, best Private winner and best Business winner. You will be contacted in order to verify that you still wish to be entered.

Judging Guidelines

We would encourage you to use peat free compost in your entry.

For the majority of categories the judges will be marking your entry on the following criteria:

  • Impact
  • Variety and the use of a range of plants
  • Colour Combinations
  • Originality and design
  • Condition, care and sustainability

Presentation of awards

The awards will be presented on Friday August 30th, time to be confirmed but it will be an evening event at Hayesfield School, Upper Oldfield Park.
